Transferring a domain to Fusionhost

Move a .co.uk, .uk, .com or other domain to Fusionhost from another registrar: unlocking it, auth codes, .uk tag changes and timings.

2 minute readLast reviewed 16 October 2026

Transferring your domain moves its registration, and its renewals, to Fusionhost. Your website and email keep working throughout, as long as you don’t change the nameservers at the same time.

.uk and .co.uk domains

UK domains don’t use transfer codes. Instead, the current registrar changes the domain’s IPS tag (a short code that identifies the registrar) to ours.

  1. Order the transfer from our domain order page, or raise a support ticket to tell us which domain you’re moving. We’ll give you our IPS tag.
  2. Ask your current registrar to change the IPS tag to Fusionhost’s. Many let you do this yourself in their control panel.
  3. Once the tag is changed, the domain appears in your Fusionhost account, usually within a few hours.

.com, .org and most other domains

  1. At your current registrar, unlock the domain and switch off any transfer lock.
  2. Request the authorisation code (also called an EPP or transfer code).
  3. Order the transfer from our domain order page and enter the code when asked.
  4. Approve the transfer if you receive a confirmation email. Most transfers complete within five days.
