The internet has a footprint. Ours is certified green.
If the internet were a country, it would be one of the world’s largest polluters. Fusionhost chooses a different path: certified 100% renewable electricity from wind and hydro, tree planting with the Woodland Trust, and carbon-conscious operations at every level.
100% renewable electricity — independently verified
Anyone can say they're green. We can prove it. Our datacentre infrastructure, provided by iomart Hosting Limited, holds an SSE Green Electricity Certificate from SSE Energy Solutions.
- 100% renewable electricity certified by SSE Energy Solutions
- Generated by wind and hydro assets
- Matched to Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs) — the UK’s official Ofgem-administered scheme
- Enables zero emission Scope 2 reporting under the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard
- Independently assured under the EcoAct renewable electricity programme
Four pillars of genuinely green hosting
Plenty of hosts buy a certificate and call themselves green. We built sustainability into how the company actually runs — from the energy in our datacentres to how our team gets to work.
See green hosting plansGreen energy
Partnered with renewable suppliers worldwide, every watt powering our operations comes from the sun, wind and sea.
Green datacentres
Our datacentres run exclusively on solar, wind and hydro power, with modern cooling that sips rather than gulps.
Green purpose
We plant native UK trees with the Woodland Trust to offset our customers' carbon footprint, year after year.
Green-minded staff
Our team uses public transport and electric vehicles, and we buy locally produced goods wherever possible.
Why green hosting matters
Every website consumes electricity 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Multiply that by nearly two billion websites and the internet's energy appetite rivals entire nations.
- Data centres account for a significant share of global electricity use
- A typical website produces carbon with every single page view
- Choosing a green host is one of the easiest sustainability wins a business can make
- Your customers increasingly expect it — and it’s worth telling them about
Trees in the ground, not just words on a page
Through our Woodland Trust partnership, hosting with Fusionhost contributes to native woodland creation across Britain — capturing carbon, restoring habitats and supporting wildlife for generations.
- Native broadleaf species suited to British soil and wildlife
- Woodland creation that supports biodiversity, not monoculture
- A tangible, visible contribution you can tell your customers about

Green hosting that performs
★★★★★
Perfect prices, excellent customer service and no task is too small. Servers are connected to fast networks, are very responsive and have not skipped a beat. … Great company, even better people.

A very professional company with great customer service. They are trustworthy and honest, two very important qualities I value hence I've been with them for over 8 years. Highly recommend them
★★★★★
If anything has gone wrong, typically they tell me and it's sorted before I have been aware of it. A top company who work hard to make your web experience simple and engaging. I know of none better!
They transferred my website from a multinational web host that had no support to their hosting platform within 48 hours with no problem and more importantly no downtime!
It took minutes to buy my personalised domain name, to order my web hosting and to install a SSL certificate… I have commissioned fusionhost to build my website and to provide me with training on how to use the website!
Assistance with the transfer was superb, all went smoothly with minimum downtime. Now working perfectly without any issues. Good decision on our part, just wish we had done it earlier.
★★★★★
Got me up and running quickly with minimal fuss. Very professional and reliable.
Personalised Customer Support… At last!
They set up my server, they secured my server and they also provide all of the maintenance involved in running a web server… fusionhost took care of everything, so I can concentrate on running my business!
It's rare these days to come across a company that does exactly what it says it will do. Fusionhost was that company for me. … thank you for great service and just your ability to get it done with NO dramas!!
Is Fusionhost really powered by renewable energy?
Yes. Our datacentre infrastructure, provided by iomart Hosting Limited, is certified by SSE Energy Solutions as running on 100% renewable electricity generated by wind and hydro assets, matched to Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs).
What are REGOs?
Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin are the UK's official scheme, administered by Ofgem, proving that each unit of electricity supplied was matched by a unit generated from renewable sources. It's independent verification — not a claim we make ourselves.
Does green hosting cost more?
Not with us. Our plans start at £4.99/mo — competitive with any fossil-fuelled host. Sustainability is how we operate, not a premium add-on.
What does 'zero emission reporting' mean for my business?
Because our electricity is REGO-matched renewable, hosting with Fusionhost supports zero emission Scope 2 reporting under the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard (market-based methodology) — useful if your business reports its carbon footprint.
Will a green host slow my website down?
No. The same enterprise-grade hardware, SSD storage and 99.9% uptime target applies. Renewable electricity powers the servers; it doesn't change how fast they run.
Where is your green datacentre?
Your website is hosted in iomart's Central London datacentre in the United Kingdom, which is powered by certified 100% renewable electricity from wind and hydro.
Can I get evidence for my own sustainability reporting?
Yes. Contact us and we'll share the details of our datacentre's renewable electricity certification for your records.
What uptime can I expect?
We target 99.9% uptime on every hosting plan. Your website runs on enterprise-grade hardware in iomart's Central London datacentre, and planned maintenance is announced in advance on our service status page.
